Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 1 Episode 10 Review: The Witching Hour

It gets worse before it gets better, although in Sabrina's case it is like there is no silver lining left.

In an almost ironic turn of events, everything that Sabrina feared is brought to Greendale, and she has no choice but to accept what she was trying to escape this entire time.

During Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 1 Episode 10, the Dark Lord finally found a way to get Sabrina to sign the Book of the Beat. Madam Satan manages to convince her to do it in the name of her family and her friends, with the witches threatening the lives of everyone at Greendale.

But the aftermath of Sabrina's decision ends with her cutting off all communication with her friends and with Harvey. The future of many characters was left up in the air.

More importantly, though, the possibilities for the next season seem endless now, with Sabrina's sudden shift leaving not only Nick surprised.

Get Your First Look at Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's Holiday Special, A Midwinter's Tale

The devil may work hard, but Netflix works harder! With the streaming giant's push for holiday content, it's no surprise that it decided to bring the festive fun to its popular new series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

The holiday special, titled A Midwinter's Tale, debuts on Dec. 14 and follows our favorite band of witches and humans as they celebrate the holidays. The Spellmans are set to celebrate the Winter Solstice with the rest of the coven from the Church of Night - which apparently includes singing pagan carols (specifically original carols sung by the cast!) and telling ghost stories - but it seems they'll be dealing with some unexpected guests, both welcome and unwelcome. Since this is Chilling Adventures, we have no doubt we're in for something dark and a little creepy with a festive twist. Maybe we'll even get a few answers to some of the questions we have from the first season?

Sabrina the Teenage Witch returns to comic books

After her latest small screen outing in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Archie Comics has announced that Sabrina the Teenage Witch is returning to comic books this coming March for a new five-issue miniseries from the creative team of writer Kelly Thompson and artist Veronica Fish.

“Sabrina is one of the most fascinating and story-rich properties at Archie so I feel incredibly lucky to get the opportunity to build in that world,” said Thompson. “Because Chilling Adventures of Sabrina already exists and is brilliant, readers should expect something a little different in our book,” Thompson added. “One of my favorite things to do is come in and modernize a wonderful classic and I hope with this incredible team on board we can do something really special with Sabrina the Teenage Witch.”

“Kelly’s take on Sabrina is fun, energized and loaded with adventure, which serves as a great companion to the Netflix series.

Riverdale Season 3 Episode 5 Review - Chapter 40: The Great Escape

Archie busts out of juvie and the Gryphons & Gargoyles saga takes a fascinating turn in a riveting Riverdale.

This Riverdale review contains spoilers.

Riverdale Season 3 Episode 5

"I saw Archie, he's caught up in some diabolical teen fight club and I need to break him out of juvie before he dies or kills someone."

If you are as obsessed with Riverdale as we here at Den of Geek are and want to indoctrinate your friends into the show a la the televisual equivalent of The Farm, just quote them the above sentence as it pretty much sums up the series in a nutshell. Season 3 has been very, very good thus far, but when Veronica burst into the room where her pals her discussing the murderous RPG taking over the town (!) to deliver this oh-so goofy statement with a deadly seriousness it struck us that Riverdale has transcended guilty pleasure status and become bona fide great television.

From ‘Sabrina’ to ‘Steven Universe,’ Family-Friendly TV Has Grown a Social Conscience

From ‘Sabrina’ to ‘Steven Universe,’ Family-Friendly TV Has Grown a Social Conscience
When did family-friendly TV grow a social conscience? Whether it’s the more youth-skewing “Steven Universe” and “Andi Mack,” or edgier teen offerings like “Big Mouth” and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” shows aimed at adolescents are taking up the mantle to account for social wrongs ranging from sexism and racism to body-shaming and school safety.

Television has a long, if spotty, history of addressing social issues on primetime; Norman Lear was a master of this on “Good Times,” “All in the Family,” and “Maude.” However, this wasn’t the stuff of TV for kids unless they were watching Very Special Episodes, ABC Afterschool Specials, or PBS programs like “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” or “Sesame Street.”

Today, it’s become the norm for mainstream children’s programming to tackle representation, body positivity, and gun violence — touchy topics that once would never have made it out of development. “One Day at a Time

Child’S Play Remake Slated for June 21st, 2019 Release, Poster Reveals the Packaging for New “Buddi” Doll

"More than a toy... he's your best friend." While the Child's Play franchise featured the terrors of a corrupted Good Guys doll, the remake will focus on the horrors of a malevolent "Buddi" doll, as evidenced by the film's new poster, which also reveals the movie's 2019 release date.

The new poster was unveiled on the official Child's Play Facebook page (see below) with the caption, "The fun is just getting started. Your best friend hits theaters nationwide on June 21, 2019."

Despite the different name, the killer doll still looks very similar to the Good Guys doll named Chucky from the previous seven installments in the franchise. It's not yet known if the doll in the new movie will be named Chucky, nor has it been announced who will voice him (Brad Dourif has given life to the iconic character in all seven movies thus far), but we'll keep Daily Dead readers
