Did You Know?
This episode marks the first film appearance of Black Lightning, a superhero that adapters of DC Comics' were reluctant to do for decades. This was because that it was believed that the character's creator, Tony Isabella, was entitled to license fees for the character's adaptation. To forgo this expense, close imitations of the character have been used over the decades such as Black Vulcan in the various incarnations of Hanna-Barbera's Super Friends and Soul Power in Static Shock
(2000). Eventually, the legal matter was finally examined closely and it was discovered that no such enforceable financial obligation actually existed and Warner Brothers Animation was free to use the character as they wished without such an expense. See more
