Storyline

In the distant future, the crew of the commercial spaceship Nostromo are on their way home when they pick up a distress call from a distant moon. The crew are under obligation to investigate and the spaceship descends on the moon afterwards. After a rough landing, three crew members leave the spaceship to explore the area on the moon. At the same time as they discover a hive colony of some unknown creature, the ship's computer deciphers the message to be a warning, not a distress call. When one of the eggs is disturbed, the crew realizes that they are not alone on the spaceship and they must deal with the consequences. Written by blazesnakes9

Did You Know?

Trivia

It was Conceptual Artist Ron Cobb who came up with the idea that the Alien should bleed acid. This came about when Dan O'Bannon couldn't find a reason why the Nostromo crew wouldn't just shoot the Alien with a gun. See more »

Goofs

In the opening scene, we see the reflection of a computer screen on the helmet with a cup on the right. When we see the helmet again, it is showing a different screen, so the cup is not present. See more »

Crazy Credits

The title of the movie is slowly created one line at a time at the top of the screen during the opening credits, starting out with the I, then vertical lines in L and E, and the forward slash in A and the slash in N (so it looks like / I I I \), then the ensuing lines of each letter are added slowly one at a time until the title is fully visible. Alternate Versions

Many of the restored scenes have alternate takes or even total re-edits from the deleted scenes on the Laserdisc and original DVD releases. The cocoon scene is a great example of this; originally opened with flat, static shots of Ripley clumsily descending a ladder, now opens with a low-angle tracking shot of Ripley descending much more smoothly. A Sci-Fi horror - classic Masterpiece the movie that started the terror in space
8 November 2018 | by rambofan4lifeSee all my reviews

A Sci-Fi horror - Masterpiece from 70's a real classic horror film with science fiction in space. This is a time and space in the movie. The spaceship Nostromo is beautiful designed with computers. It is beautiful designed, you have beautiful great special effects that hold up till day. Alien stays the best horror movie in the franchise which was brilliantly directed by Ridley Scott. The effect and latex was made to fit Badejo's slender 6-foot-10-inch (208 cm) frame by taking a full-body costume for Alien was great designed great idea. The story is brilliant, the screenplay is brilliant. This is my second favorite "Alien" movie in the franchise I like this movie. James Cameron's Aliens is my number 1 favorite action horror film of all time.

The crew of the spaceship Nostromo answers a distress signal from a desolate planet LV-426 only to discover a deadly life form that breeds within human host. Now the crew members must fight not only for their own survival, but for the survival of all humankind.

There is a Extraterrestrial alien life form on a Nostromo ship who hunts down crew members and kills them one by one on a brutal way. Crew members has to fight for the survival and stop extraterrestrial thing before he destroys our whole world. The designed and building for shuttle and inside of the ship was brilliant to see it. The movie is rated R it is a horror film and the film becomes really scary by time to time and creepy.

Alien (1979) stars: Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm, Yaphet Kotto, Helen Horton and Bolaji Badejo all beautiful worked and acted their beloved characters they are all and believable.

The first movie in "Alien" franchise is one of the greatest science fiction films and it is perfect it is fast paced goes quickly around. It is intelligent, fascinating for the facehugger, chestburster and Alien designs. It is the movie that started the franchise. The movie has mystery and a synthetic man on board who attacks one of his crew members. There is an alien on a different space ship who bring those eggs but no one knew what was inside of them until one of the got a parasite in his face and later becomes cocooned by one of those things. The mythology in this movie about Alien is brilliant.

Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley did wonderful job at acting she was fascinating as the main heroine. I did enjoy Tom Skerritt as Captain Dallas and of course Yaphet Kotto as Parker. From James Bond 007 - Live and Let Die to Alien. There was cat Jones in the movie and the cat was trained and it was likable.

Alien (1979) first movie in the franchise is the best one in the series but my personal favorite horror film in the series will be the James Cameron's Aliens (1986) the sequel to this movie that I love to death an so much. I like the first Alien so much but I love Aliens more.
