The video was directed by Grant Singer and stars St. Vincent’s Annie Clark as a woman who rolls up in a red hearse to a bizarre store that has no entrance, just an exit, and seems to be entirely empty save for a pair of uninterested employees — played by Dew and Sounwave — who look on as Clark uses

David Crosby Says New Documentary ‘Remember My Name’ Is Like ‘Being Naked in Public’

David Crosby Says New Documentary ‘Remember My Name’ Is Like ‘Being Naked in Public’
“It’s not easy. It’s hard being naked in public,” David Crosby, the legendary troubadour of classic rock, reflected at Tuesday night’s New York City premiere of “David Crosby: Remember My Name.” “I don’t know what to do here. There’s no guitars, no drums,” he laughed.

Directed by newcomer A.J. Eaton and produced by the legendary Rolling Stone journalist and “Almost Famous” scribe Cameron Crowe, “Remember My Name” is an unblurred, deeply personal look at the long-troubled life of David Crosby, whose rise to fame as a founding member of The Byrds and tenure with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young is inexorably tied to a few of this country’s most transcendent artifacts of cultural and music history.

“They’ll see a real guy. They’ll see who I am. And I think it’s better that they see an honest portrayal than they see some kind of fake.

Why Elisabeth Moss Deserves More than ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ (Column)
Elisabeth Moss has a long talk with a somewhat less-than-present conversation partner, to which Moss herself brings a certain wired tension. Her physical posture, upright even as her voice frays with exhaustion, indicates as much as do her words a new resolve to do better than she’s done as a caretaker. Having run out of things to say to a person about whom she holds complicated feelings, Moss finds in memory a piece of music to communicate a love and a passion it can be almost unbearably painful to admit. With limited instrumental backing and in an unbroken shot

No Surprise: No Federal Charges in Eric Garner Case

I first started hearing about federal agents in Staten Island about four years ago, roughly a year after the killing or Eric Garner. I was working on a book about the case called I Can’t Breathe. The streets were abuzz with rumors about G-Men showing up in the old Bay Street neighborhood where Garner had been choked to death, in July of 2014, by a New York City policeman.

The New York Times summarized what happened to Garner:

Bystanders filmed the arrest on their cellphones, recording Mr. Garner as he gasped “I can’t breathe,

Stx Tries to Put Flops Behind It as It Searches for Star Executive, Fresh Capital

After a series of film flops and an aborted initial public offering, Stx Entertainment is battling mounting skepticism that it can survive in an increasingly unforgiving movie business.

As it hustles to find $500 million in fresh capital, the company, which operates in the red according to financial disclosures, is simultaneously hoping to attract a “superstar” executive to help stabilize its struggling film division. The company has started to interview candidates for the job, and is open to hiring someone to serve as co-chairman of Stx Films alongside Adam Fogelson, who retains the support of the company’s leadership. The studio is looking to signal to the industry that it is righting the ship after the anemic financial performance of “UglyDolls,” “Poms,” and “Best of Enemies” and a lackluster track record of fielding hits. For this reason, Stx may have difficulty in attracting top executive talent.

Kevin Spacey Criminal Case Dropped in Massachusetts

Kevin Spacey Criminal Case Dropped in Massachusetts
The criminal sexual assault case against Kevin Spacey in Massachusetts has been dropped, according to court filings by Nantucket District Attorney Michael O’Keefe on Wednesday.

The charge of felony indecent assault and battery was dropped due to “the unavailability of the complaining witness.” The unnamed accuser, who claimed that Spacey groped him at a Nantucket bar three years ago, invoked his Fifth Amendment rights during a pre-trial hearing last week.

During the hearing, Spacey’s attorney, Alan Jackson, asked the accuser about the location of a phone he used to send text messages about the incident, some of which Spacey’s attorneys say have been deleted and show that the accuser “exaggerated” his telling of the bar encounter.
