The Cannes Film Festival will start one day earlier than in previous years but will run for the same length of time, according to the organisers. The 71st Festival de Cannes will begin on Tuesday, May 8 and run until Saturday May 19, 2018. The move means that the opening will take place on the evening of Tuesday, May 8, while the awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 19.
